Sport: Baseball

As a high school student in Providence, Patrick played baseball on a summer league composed mostly of recent immigrants from the Dominican Republic. He noticed that these athletes often struggled in school, primarily because English is their second language, but also because they did not know how to balance academics with athletics. This summer, Patrick will work with the players at Providence Sports and Leadership to help mentor and coach these athletes, both on the field and off, in an academic program designed to strengthen their reading and writing skills.
