Advancing Agriculture in Guinea: Addressing Public Health Issues Related to Food Insecurity

How are Guineans affected by food insecurity and how does that impact their overall health? Through this research, I aim to explore the causes and consequences of food insecurity in Guinea through a combination of desk and field research with a disciplinary focus on public health. In this project, I want to investigate the historical and current causes of food insecurity in the country, how domestic agricultural production contributes to food security compared to agricultural imports, and the current leading agricultural practices and scale of agriculture in Guinea. This project reflects how food insecurity impacts the health of the population. I would eventually want to extend the research to the West African region.
