Music therapy has been shown to be an effective tool for patients to explore the complicated emotions associated with their illness. Emily will investigate how children in a pediatric oncology ward convey emotions through music. Emily will conduct interviews with children who undergo music therapy and record their musical improvisation, looking for correlations between musical expression and vocalized emotion.
