Working with a domestic violence organization in Berlin Erin will explore how recent migrants as well as ethnic Germans conceptualize sexual violence in their communities. By elevating the narratives of women deeply invested in anti-violence work Erin hopes to contribute to reducing the harmful stigmatization of migrants. She will connect her work in Berlin to domestic violence organizations in Pittsburgh and Providence. Ultimately Erin hopes to understand how the rhetoric surrounding sexual violence becomes mobilized against migrant populations in the contemporary political landscape.
