Regional Differences in Cardiovascular Prevalence in Albania
Faculty Sponsor: Bruce Becker
Few studies have been conducted on the prevalence and risk factors associated with cardiovascular disease (CVD) in Albania. Data compiled during the Communist era is scarce and what little exists is untrustworthy. The aim of Fatima's study was to provide a comprehensive assessment of the modifiable risk factors associated with CVD in the northern and southern regions of Albania. This was advantageous in organizing interventions that address specific risk factors characteristic of the region in an effort to reduce cardiovascular disease.
