Lauren will coordinate the expansion of the Liberation Summer Project (LSP), an African American internship project based in Selma, Ala., to a new site in Washington, D.C. She will serve as the Washington project’s principal advisor, overseeing four to eight interns in the development of programs to meet their community’s needs.

Lauren Arrington is a Midwife and global health advisor with over 10 years of experience in women’s health and nursing education. She is committed to health care justice and co-development. She currently works in Jhpiego's maternal newborn health unit, supporting a portfolio that includes projects in Tanzania, Liberia, Kenya and Nigeria. She also practice midwifery with Women's Health Associates of the University of Maryland St. Joseph Medical Center.
