Faculty Sponsor: Stephen Houston

Michael examined the history of the French monarchical Order of St. Michel, investigating the Order from its inception, and explored the purpose behind its foundation, what guidelines dictated entrance into the Order, and what led to the demise of this important instrument of monarchical reward.

After graduating from Brown, Michael earned Masters degrees in both Teaching of Social Studies from Teachers College Columbia University and in International Law and Global Security at Georgetown University. He was a Crisis Management Program Officer at the U.S. Department of State, after having spent four years as a New York City Public High School history teacher. He is currently the Manager of Crisis Plans and Communications at WeWork. He lives in Arlington, VA with his fiance.
