Card Club Cooks: Food and Eating Among American Homemakers

Faculty Sponsor: Charlotte Biltekoff

Nathalie combined oral histories with a community cookbook to illuminate perspectives of twenty-two, suburban, Philadelphia homemakers. She believed this project would be an unconventionally feminist way to explore the idea that hidden power lies in the historically oppressive, yet surprisingly empowering domestic chore of cooking.

After graduation, Nathalie lived in Europe, Asia and Australia for several years, working as a bike guide, cheesemonger and travel writer. In 2008, she and two friends founded People's Pops, an ice pop manufacturer and retailer in New York City. She now splits her time between her businesses in New York City and New Orleans.
