Nicholas participated in ongoing excavations at Liman Tepe, a harbor settlement in Izmir, Turkey. The site has been occupied since the fourth millennium B.C.E. and is regarded as one of the world’s most important underwater archaeological sites. Nicholas worked with a diverse team of archeologists to explore questions of preservation as well as cultural heritage.

Nicholas was the 2012 Baker Award winner. He is currently a graduate student in Archeology at Oxford University.
