A Sport and Public Health Curriculum

O’Sha and her partner Uzo explored how physical activity has been used as a vehicle to engage and support middle school students in the classroom. They conducted a literature review analyzing the curriculum of four innovative schools that have integrated the practice of physical activity as part of their academic curriculum and investigate the literature that supports those activity-based program. Ultimately, this preparatory research will be used to create an innovative, activity-based curriculum at Sophia Academy in Providence, RI.

O'sha is a Secondary English Teacher at Providence Public Schools. She teaches 10th and 12th grade students who are working towards proficiency in English.
