Greta is a rising junior concentrating in Urban Studies, focusing specifically on sustainability. From northwest Nebraska, she is especially interested in the intersection between rural communities and a changing climate. Last year during a leave from Brown, she volunteered for a conservation organization in Costa Rica, practicing Spanish and studying ocean biodiversity. Greta spent a month on the US-Mexico border working with immigration reform organizations and humanitarian aid volunteers. In the spring, Greta was an intern with Senator Kirsten Gillibrand in Washington, D.C., and a fellow at a yoga cooperative. In her first two years at Brown, Greta enjoyed volunteering with Brown Market Shares and creating with Innovation Dojo. Recently, Greta’s world has become happily immersed in baking sourdough bread and raising a new flock of backyard chickens.
