Parisa Thepmankorn is a rising senior from Denville, New Jersey, studying Biology and English on the nonfiction writing track. She believes in the ability of storytelling to build empathy and understanding in society at large, and is passionate about advocating for people whose narratives are often underrepresented and overlooked. She is especially interested in exploring the intersection between storytelling, social justice, and health, and hopes to work towards promoting health literacy and communication in her future. At Brown, she serves as the Editor-in-Chief of XO Magazine, a publication recently established to promote dialogue about diverse experiences of love, sex, and sexuality, and is a part of the Swearer Center-affiliated organizations HOPE and SHAPE.
