I am a senior (.5’er) concentrating in Middle East Studies. During my time at Brown I have had many opportunities to engage in social justice storytelling—I’ve worked on the staff of the College Hill Independent since my freshman year (serving as managing editor in Fall 2016) and interned at Rhode Island Public Radio and EcoRI. Throughout this work, I have been committed to using journalism as a way to educate myself and others about social justice projects taking place across the city of Providence. I hope that the Fellowship will provide me with an opportunity to continue to develop these skills within a collaborative network of students and mentors.
