Q&I awarded "master contract" to conduct infection prevention research

A team of researchers within Brown and across institutions, headed by Q&I lead Rosa Baier (pictured), was awarded a five-year "master contract" with the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), enabling them to bid on projects related to health care-acquired infection research and implementation. In the first contract awarded under this mechanism, Dr. Stefan Gravenstein will lead a team implementing CDC’s Core Elements of Antibiotic Stewardship for Nursing Homes in a network of about 50 nursing centers across the country.
