Biography

Ousley & Associates assists healthcare providers in strategic planning, management problem solving, regulatory and compliance issues, operational analysis and implementation of quality management programs.

Ms. Ousley has held multiple leadership positions in dynamic healthcare organizations, which has provided her with an extensive background in and knowledge of all facets of post-acute and long-term care. Since 1987, she has worked closely with Medicare on policy and regulatory development. She has also been appointed to and made recommendations for the U.S. General Accountability Office, the Joint Commission, and the National Commission on Nursing; provided Congressional testimony regarding policy; and served on numerous expert panels. 

Ms. Ousley is currently Chairman of the Board of Trustees of Altarum Institute, which integrates objective research and client-centered consulting skills to deliver comprehensive, systems-based solutions that improve health and health care. She is also Past Chairman of AHCA. In 2011, AHCA awarded Ms. Ousley the prestigious Friend of Quality Award. The award was renamed in her honor: The Mary K. Ousley Champion of Quality Award

Ms. Ousley received her degree from Eastern Kentucky University and in 1990 was recognized by the University College of Nursing as an outstanding alumna, a registered nurse who has made significant contributions to the field of nursing on a local, state, and national level. In 2012, she was inducted into the Eastern Kentucky University Hall of Distinguished Alumni.
