PROVIDENCE, R.I. [Brown University] — For some 1,682 first-year undergraduates, life at Brown starts on Saturday morning on Keeney Quad and in Morriss-Champlin with room keys, Brown IDs and Orientation schedules. From there, it’s everything from campus tours and ice-cream socials to teary family goodbyes, first reading seminars and midnight organ concerts.
Then comes the official start to the academic year on Tuesday, Sept. 6, where more than 2,500 new undergraduate, graduate and medical students will process through the famed Van Wickle Gates en route to the College Green for Brown’s 253rd Opening Convocation ceremony.
It should be a spirited celebration on College Hill. Join the conversation and share your photos, videos and messages with #Brown2020.
