David G. Zelaya was appointed to serve on the American Psychological Association's Committee on Ethnic Minority Affairs (CEMA).

CEMA serves as the primary resource to the Board for the Advancement of Psychology in the Public Interest (BAPPI) on ethnic minority issues and concerns. CEMA promotes the scientific understanding, culturally sensitive models of behavioral health delivery, and training and educational opportunities of culture and ethnicity in psychology.
