The series cultivates intellectual spaces for critical engagement and collective action focused on economic justice, immigrant justice, and educational freedom at, and beyond, Brown University. The series mission is two-fold: 1) to provide opportunities for intra-community building and reflection among undocumented, first-generation college, and low-income community members; 2) engage all students, faculty, and staff to learn and build meaningful collaborations with the center and the communities it supports. Through public lectures, performances, and workshops, Breathing Power reshapes learning environments that give breath to ways of being that honor the dignity, joy, and liberatory practices of U-FLi communities.
