Supplier Diversity is a business strategy that encourages the use of diverse suppliers in the procurement of goods and services

Supplier Diversity Mission Statement 

Brown University is dedicated to developing mutually beneficial relationships with qualified, underrepresented suppliers to enable them to participate in the University’s sourcing and procurement process. Brown will facilitate inclusive procurement opportunities and encourage university departments and schools to offer opportunities to such suppliers. Brown’s supplier diversity efforts  are an essential component to supporting the University’s DIAP program.

How to find a supplier in Workday with a diversity supplier classification

The Find Suppliers Report in Workday enables you to search for active Workday suppliers, and suppliers with diversity classifications.  Additional search options can be selected such as Supplier Category and Supplier Group to focus your supplier search.  For information on how to run this report and its related job aid, search Find Suppliers Report in the Workday Learning section under the Menu.  Strategic Suppliers with diversity classifications are also denoted on the Strategic Suppliers page

How to view a supplier's diversity classification in Workday

To view a supplier's diversity classification in Workday, click on the supplier, and in the supplier's Overview tab select Classification.
