In an article by the Providence Journal, James A. Maloney cites how Rhode Island is rapidly becoming a leader in the social enterprise movement. Through organizations such as Social Venture Partners RI, the Capital Good Fund, and Amos House, social innovation is rapidly spreading through the Ocean State--and being supported by the Social Innovation Initiative at the Swearer Center, RISD's Office for Public Engagement, and the SEEED Act, the first federal legislation to support the social enterprise movement.
