Abstract 

Jeffrey Garanich, Ph.D. // Director of the CCNY Master’s in Translational Medicine (MTM).

In this role, he oversees development and growth of the program while leading administration of a curriculum that trains students in the core competencies required to bring a new medical technology to market. In addition, Dr. Garanich served as Program Chair for the 2018 Biomedical Engineering Society Coulter College, an international training program focused on the translation of biomedical innovations. Prior to joining CCNY, Dr. Garanich worked in the medical technology and private equity industries.  Of note, he spent six years with Boston Scientific Corporation, where he drove the completion of cross-disciplinary research and development projects critical to the commercialization of new medical technologies.

 

Sabriya Stukes, Ph.D. // Assistant Director of the CCNY Master’s in Translational Medicine (MTM).

Some of her responsibilities include leading recruitment efforts, creating digital marketing strategies and teaching.  She is a trained microbiologist, a one-time science podcaster,  fierce supporter of all things STEM, and a newly minted adjunct assistant professor. She received her B.S in Biology with a concentration in Microbiology and Immunology in 2005 from Virginia Tech and in 2015 earned her doctoral degree in Biomedical Sciences at The Albert Einstein College of Medicine. She  is actively involved in various organizations that help to increase visibility and awareness in the science fields for women and underrepresented communities.
