BWell has some of the most involved and dedicated student leaders on campus. Each year we honor our students with BWell Star Awards which are awarded to standout members of our student leader community in four categories.
Senior Star: Given to senior(s)/graduating student(s) who have exhibited exceptional leadership and commitment to the mission of BWell Health Promotion and live out the values of BWell’s student integrity statement.
Rising Star: Given to student(s) who are in their first-year working or volunteering with BWell and have demonstrated notable initiative in engaging with BWell projects and programs to promote BWell’s mission and live out the values of BWell’s student integrity statement.
Mentorship Star: Given to student(s) who have exhibited outstanding mentorship practices, empowering other students to be fully engaged and to develop a deeper sense of belonging in BWell.
Self and Community Care Star: Given to student(s) who have helped to empower BWell student community members to prioritize health and wellbeing, to understand that all wellbeing is interconnected, and who have worked to encourage and normalize key wellbeing practices.
Nominations for these awards are collected each Spring and the winners receive their awards at BWell's Student Appreciation Reception.

BWell's Mission Statement: BWell supports the development of skills for lifelong, holistic health and wellbeing for all Brown students by offering interventions that are both community- and evidence-informed, and rooted in social justice to empower growth and the ability to thrive, prevent health disparities, and respond to emergent needs.
BWell’s Student Integrity Statement: BWell students serve as leaders and role models and as an extension of the professional staff of BWell (in particular) and Brown Health and Wellness (in general). In all of the work that we do, BWell is explicitly committed to consent, empowerment, and dismantling all forms of oppression.
