The Joukowsky Institute Advisory Board serves to advise the Joukowsky Institute Director, and other faculty and staff members as appropriate, on resources and priorities with regard to the Joukowsky Institute for Archaeology and the Ancient World. The Board meets once a year to review and make recommendations about policies concerning the Institute and its operations; and to comment on planning and implementation of plans for current and proposed Institute policies and programs. The Board may also review and make recommendations with regard to policies consistent with the goals and objectives of the University for the proper use of Institute resources by faculty, staff, and students; the enhancement of the faculty and student academic environment through the effective use and support of the Institute; appropriate Institute support for research; and the enhancement of Institute resources and support. The Board coordinates its agenda and work with other University boards or committees, as appropriate.
The Advisory Board was placed on hiatus during the COVID pandemic, and we anticipate reconvening the Board in the 2024-2025 academic year, to assist the Director in an intensive strategic planning process.
