Library Workshop: Painting Your Model

Rockefeller Library, Digital Studio Seminar Room (Rock 160)
You've downloaded a beautiful model and are ready to print it up on the library's full-color 3D printer, or maybe view it in VR... but it's just white (STL, the most popular format for 3D printing, does not carry any color information with it). Or maybe it's only one color. Or the wrong colors. Just how does one do color detailing on a 3D model? Turns out, it's not hard if you use the right tools. This hands-on workshop will go over how to add a splash of polychrome to your white marble. (Part of the Library/CIS 3D workshop series: see http://cds.library.brown.edu/workshops/3d/index.html for details.)
