The Title IX and Gender Equity Office at Brown University is responsible for ensuring compliance with Title IX of the Education Amendments of 1972, which protects people from sex discrimination in educational programs and activities at institutions that receive federal financial assistance. Brown University has two policies and procedures that prohibit sexual harassment, gender-based harassment, sexual assault, dating violence, domestic violence, and stalking:
- Sexual and Gender-based Harassment, Sexual Assault, Intimate Partner Violence, and Stalking Policy (Title IX Policy) and corresponding Title IX Grievance Procedure
- Sexual and Gender-Based Misconduct Policy and corresponding Sexual and Gender-Based Misconduct Complaint Procedure
