The third talk of the semester in the East Asia Colloquium series is by Elizabeth Lord of Brown University, entitled "Narratives of China's Environment: Crisis, Hope and the Spatiality of Blame" on Thursday, March 14, from 12 to 1:30 pm in Gerard House 101. 'A Thematic Dictionary of Contemporary Chinese is a real breakthrough in the field of Chinese dictionaries. In addition to the thematic classification, which is very convenient to use, one of the great qualities of this dictionary is to indicate the meaning of each character, unlike dictionaries published in China, and thus to respect the ideographic nature of Chinese writing. This will be much appreciated by Chinese learners!'
