Biography

Brie M Reid, PhD, is a STAR T32-funded postdoctoral fellow at the Alpert Medical School of Brown University. She earned her PhD in Developmental Psychology from the University of Minnesota's Institute of Child Development, with a doctoral minor in Epidemiology from the University of Minnesota School of Public Health. Dr. Reid’s research examines bio-psychosocial factors of child development that influence mental and physical health disparities, with a focus on psychosocial stress and undernutrition early in life. Her research focuses on how nutrition and psychosocial adversity interact to influence development, primarily through stress physiology and immune mechanisms. While much of her research focuses on adversity in infancy and subsequent outcomes in adolescence and emerging adulthood, her work at Brown will extend her lines of research into the prenatal period. She received her BS in Design & Environmental Psychology from Cornell University in 2012 and her MA in Design & Environmental Psychology with a focus in International Nutrition and Child Development from Cornell University in 2013.
