Biography

Shaquanna Brown, Ph.D. is a Research Scientist at the Center for Behavioral and Preventive Medicine (CBPM) at The Miriam Hospital (TMH). Her research seeks to understand the mechanisms that underlie the influence of childhood adversity on adolescent risk behaviors, such as substance use. Prior to joining the faculty at CBPM, Dr. Brown was a T32 postdoctoral research fellow in Stress, Trauma, and Resilience at TMH and the Department of Psychiatry and Human Behavior at the Warren Alpert Medical School of Brown University. She earned her Ph.D. in Clinical Child Psychology from the University of Kansas and completed her predoctoral clinical internship at Penn State Milton S. Hershey Medical Center.
