The Department of Classics at Brown University has been authorized to announce a search for a specialist in ancient Greek literature at the rank of Assistant Professor (tenure-track) or tenured Associate Professor.

The successful candidate will teach primarily Greek language and literature, as well as courses in translation. Prerequisites for consideration include distinction in scholarship and teaching in any aspect of ancient Greek language and literature. Candidates should submit a letter of application, curriculum vitae, a brief writing sample (no more than thirty pages), and, if applying for a position at the rank of Assistant Professor, three letters of recommendation; Ph.D. by the time of employment is required. Applicants for a tenured Associate Professor position should send the names of five referees, who will be contacted directly by the Search Committee.

Review of applications will begin on November 1 and will continue until the position is filled.
