Graduate Student Michiel Van Veldhuizen Takes Part in Research Matters 2017

On Saturday, November 4th, the Brown University Graduate School hosted its annual Research Matters! event.  This event features Brown graduate students giving brief talks about why their research matters.

This year, Classics graduate student, Michiel Van Veldhuizen presented his talk "From Helice to Houston: The Semiotics of Disaster."  Michiel shared his research on representations of disasters in Ancient Greek and Roman History and Semiotics.  You can see the video of Michiel's talk below, or on the Brown Graduate School YouTube page.
