Max’s work consisted of a digital project that mapped sight lines and visibility as travelers came from Veii along the Via Veientana / Via Triumphalis to Rome.

Brown alum presents "The Iliad in 30 minutes"

Benjamin Nacar ('12) will be presenting a program of original compositions entitled Dreams of Homer. Concerts will take place in March (the afternoons of the 14th, 15th, and 16th), at RISD and at the Cogut Center.

Byron MacDougall and Matthew Wellenbach, both Brown Classics grad students set to defend their dissertations this April, have published articles in the latest issue of Greek, Roman and Byzantine Studies.

The Classics Department presents the 2013 Francis Wayland Language Prize Exams...

During the month of October the Classics Department will host 2 Language Prize Exams.  Exams are open to students of the class of 2017 ONLY.

Brown Classical Journal: Call for Submissions 2013

The Brown Classical Journal invites all undergraduates with an interest in Classics to submit works relevant to the ancient world and its traditions in subsequent eras.  We also welcome submissions that treat the cultures of any ancient society, East or West, that touch on Greco-Roman antiquity.
Submissions may include research papers, essays, translations, poetry, original photographs, artwork, & creative pieces.
