It is Commencement season once again at Brown, and the Classics Department has events going on throughout the Commencement Weekend that our faculty, students, and families are invited to!

Classics Professor Johanna Hanink was recently awarded the Institute of Classical Studies’ T.B.L. Webster Fellowship for 2019-20!

On Tuesday May 8, 2019, the Greek Consul, Stratos Efthymiou, based in Boston, made an informal visit to Brown for discussions with Elsa Amanatidou, Director of the Modern Greek Studies program, and the Classics Department.

On Monday, April 29^th, the Department of Classics held its annual New Concentrators Reception.  At the end of every academic year, the Classics Department hosts this evening event at the Brown Faculty Club.  We invite current Classics Department members and our undergraduate alumni to enjoy refreshments and welcome the new Classics concentrators.
