Song Gao, Associate Professor of Geographic Information Science, University of Wisconsin-Madison
There is an increasing availability of large-scale location data through mobile phone GPS tracking, wearable sensors, and georeferenced social media. These location big data provide new opportunities to study human mobility patterns and human-place interactions. In this workshop co-sponsored by the PSTC, Song Gao, Associate Professor of Geographic Information Science at University of Wisconsin-Madison, will introduce a spatial data science workflow for sourcing, analyzing, and mapping/geovisualizing human mobility flow (big) data using open-source tools and platforms.
All backgrounds are welcome. A laptop with a web browser is required for this workshop. Lunch will be served. Learn more and RSVP.
