BIARI returns to campus

PROVIDENCE, R.I. [Brown University] – Brown International Advanced Research Institutes (BIARI) gathers "participants from around the world to address pressing global issues through collaboration across academic, professional, and geographic boundaries." BIARI 2016 is taking place June 4-18 at the Watson Institute with PSTC faculty associates serving as conveners in two of the four Institutes. 

 

Professor of Sociology Patrick Heller is co-convening Governance and Development in the Age of Globalization, and Professor of Economics Glenn Louryis co-convening Ethnicity, Conflict and Inequality in Global Perspective. BIARI is a highly selective program that "gives participants a unique opportunity to interact with their global peers." PSTC affiliates have participated in a variety of capacities throughout the eight-year history of the program, including an annual African professionalization workshop held at the PSTC.
