Loury named AEA Distinguished Fellow

PROVIDENCE, R.I. [Brown University] – Professor of Economics Glenn Loury has been named one of four Distinguished Fellows for 2016 by the American Economic Association, the leading U.S. scholarly economics organization. The AEA states that the award recognizes Loury's "important contributions to the economics of social policy." For forty years, he has been "a leading and provocative public intellectual" and has made "groundbreaking contributions to the fields of welfare economics, income distribution, game theory, industrial organization, natural resource economics and labor economics." A particularly influential aspect of Loury's work has been in the area of affirmative action.
