Mike is interested in spatial patterns of development and economic activity throughout the world. One strand of his current research examines the causes and consequences of increasing poverty in American suburbs. Another project investigates how water pollution flows through the canal network of the Mekong Delta, and the effects of pollution on the productivity of small farmers in the area.
