Xinyu's research interests are Labor Economics and Econometrics. His current focus revolves around nonparametric inference, misspecification, and their implications for behavioral economics. He is also exploring the extent to which behavioral frictions such as measurement error or limited attention can be incorporated into welfare analysis. Prior to joining Brown, he did research on using network theory to study earning dynamics and inequality in the labor market.
