Assessing improved nutrition through SNAP

PROVIDENCE, R.I. [Brown University] – Do families enrolled in the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) program use the assistance to buy healthier food and increase their overall health? Professors of Economics Justine Hastings and Jesse Shapiro are seeking answers to this question and assessing the effects of SNAP enrollment. Their research has recently received funding from Policies for Action (P4A), a program of the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation.
