S4 Findings on Rhode Island and COVID-19

Spatial Structures in the Social Sciences (S4) has released a new report on COVID-19 in Rhode Island. The report, Rhode Island and COVID-19: Tracing the Pandemic, was researched and written by PSTC faculty associates and staff members Kevin Mwenda, Guixing WeiJuanfang LeiLaura López-SandersMichael White, and colleagues. The team, led by Mwenda, analyzed the distribution and impact of the 20,795 cases of COVID-19 reported in Rhode Island as of late August, aiming to provide valuable insight to public health officials involved in the continued response to the pandemic. The report details information on the spatial distribution of cases, the geographic mobility of Rhode Islanders, and the potential impact of COVID on households and food insecurity.
