Barbara Browning is Associate Professor of Performance Studies at New York University. She holds Ph.D., M.A. and B.A. degrees in Comparative Literature from Yale University. Her honors include a Fulbright Fellowship; Fellow of the Schomburg Center for Research in Black Culture; President's Award for Teaching from Princeton University; Mellon Visiting Professor at Tulane University; and De La Torre Bueno Prize for Best Book in Dance.
