How to Embed an International Component in a Course and Get Funding for It

Sheridan Center for Teaching & Learning

The Global Experiential Learning and Teaching (GELT) grant program provides funds for advanced undergraduate seminars that embed an international travel component. Travel may take place prior to, during, or at the end of the course, or may be offered as a destination course during Brown’s Wintersession. The GELT program offers two forms of support: a development grant (up to $4,000) to design the travel component and an implementation grant (up to $35,000) to run the course, which includes student and faculty travel, accommodations, and other expenses.
This session will provide more information about pedagogical approaches, grant structure, and the application process. Faculty from all disciplines are welcome.
Join us to learn how to take your course to the next level through international travel! RSVP by noon on November 30 to reserve a spot. Light lunch will be provided.
