Matthew has partnered with faculty and students in a variety of teaching and learning contexts and he brings a human-centered and cross-cultural approach to his work. Formerly the Assistant Director for Operations and Program Management at Boston College’s Center for Teaching Excellence, Matthew also served as a Program Director for the University of Minnesota’s Carlson School of Management – working closely with international graduate students and instructors. Matthew has taught courses on intercultural competence for undergraduate students at Boston College, and he’s a qualified administrator of the Intercultural Development Inventory. In 2019, he co-presented a PODLive! Webinar (with Stacy Grooters) titled “Beyond Inclusion: Critical Approaches to Intercultural Competence in the Classroom.” You can also check out his Cultural Perspectives Podcast.

Matthew earned his M.A. and Ph.D. in comparative and international development education at the University of Minnesota, and his B.A. in English at Carleton College.
